We here are Harmony Baptist Church desire to have one thing in common with all
of the ministries we offer. We desire to have Jesus Christ to be first and
foremost in everything we do. It may be the choir singing, or the youth group
going on an activity we want Christ to be lifted up. It is important for us to
be a part of a local, Bible-believing, Baptist church. It is equally important
that we are involved in that church.
Acts 1:17 “For he was numbered with us, and had obtained
part of this ministry.”

Music
We are commanded in the scriptures to praise and sing unto the Lord. We want to
have music that is Christ honoring, not just popular or what people want to
hear. Music is a gift from God for us to use to worship him. We are blessed to
have people who love to sing of the wonders of God! We are able to lift Him up
in song and worship. Praise the Lord for a choir who sings music that lifts up
the name of the Lord. We have a number of folks who sing special music that
really challenges our hearts at we prepare for the preaching of His word.
Psalm 149:1 “Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new
song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.”

Youth
Our youth group is comprised of young people ranging in grades from 7th to 12th
grades. The focus of our youth group is that we teach and train them to be a
part of the church. We do not want to isolate them; many a youth group only
entertains. We want to help parents in their biblical mandate to teach and
nurture children in the Lords’ ways. We at Harmony want to prepare our young
people to be thriving members of our church. We desire them to understand what
the Bible teaches.
The youth enjoy Wednesday night youth group. They enjoy games and have a time
when they study topics that relate to where they are in their lives.
The youth group also enjoys visiting Manley heights and some nursing homes in
our area once a month.
The group enjoys activities that vary in range from ball games and tubing, to
Christmas parties and summer camp. Come and be a part of this great group that
will encourage any teenager to be closer to the Lord.
Ephesians 6:4 “…but bring them up in the nurture and
admonition of the Lord.”

In Matthew 19:28 Jesus commands us to go into all the world and preach the
gospel. The members of Harmony Baptist Church do that through weekly missions
giving. One of the highlights of our year is our annual Missions Conference
where our hearts are stirred with the responsibility of evangelizing the world.
We currently support more than 35 missionaries and are always attempting to
either add more missionaries or increase our current missionaries monthly
support.

Children
Praise the Lord for the blessing of children! They are truly a blessing and gift
from the Lord. Bob Battko has been leading our children’s church for years. It
is our desire to encourage the truths and fundamentals of God’s word in this
time. The singing and Bible time is geared for children. We want our children to
love God and love worshipping Him. We want our children to understand what it
means to love Him and serve Him. We attempt to make this service a time when we
can teach the children in these areas.
On Wednesday nights our children meet in their classes to learn Bible verses and
stories that will encourage their grasp of the Bible.
We have wonderful teachers who love children and the Lord. We know that children
are impressionable. That is the reason we seek to impress God’s word on their
hearts with such a strong emphasis.
Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he
should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Nursery
The nursery is so vital in order for parents to be able to sit in church with
the assurance of mind that their infants are being cared for properly. The staff of caring people and warmth to love your children will
reassure you as they enjoy their time playing in the nursery. We have a nursery
area that is well kept and prepared with toys and all the necessary baby things
to be comfortable.
Psalm 127:3 “Lo, children are an heritage of
the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”

Every Sunday morning at 10:00 am our teenagers and adults are involved in a
Bible study, while children are in their Sunday school classes. These are not
dry, dull times where you rehash everything you have always known about the
Bible, but exciting times of learning, applying and fellowship. Our children’s
Sunday school classes are geared for their age level with age appropriate
lessons. Adults have one class, "Discovery Bible", taught by Jim
Lawrence in the sanctuary. Please plan on attending these
lessons for all ages.
Acts17:11 "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they
received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily,
whether those things were so."
